ALIGNED Insurance Supports The Food Bank of Waterloo Region
Recently, a group of ALIGNED team members spent an afternoon sorting food for The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. Kaitlyn Davis, Engagement Coordinator, warmly welcomed our group, provided an introduction about what The Food Bank does and quickly put our team to work sorting donations.
Kaitlyn notes that, “Local hunger continues to be a complex challenge facing our community. The Food Bank of Waterloo Region is community supported and your donations of time, food and funds make it possible for our food assistance network to provide more than 6 million meals each year. These meals are also a link to resources and services necessary to move lives forward.”
She thanked the ALIGNED team for their time and comments, “(ALIGNED Insurance was) quite possibly the quickest group I’ve ever seen! We really enjoyed sorting with your group and hope you’ll come back again.”
ALIGNED with Social Responsibility
Darlene Alves, Assistant Advocate & Owner, works out of our National Operations Centre in Waterloo and brought forward the opportunity to help.
Darlene shares, “This is the second time I’ve volunteered with my ALIGNED colleagues at The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. It’s great to get out and help the local community in such a tangible and meaningful way. I appreciate the great work The Food Bank does as well as the opportunity to provide hands on support.”
Helping with our hearts and hands is an important part of ALIGNED’s ongoing commitment to Social Responsibility. We believe in leading by example. Each year, every staff member spends two days as a volunteer partner with an organization they are passionate about helping. In addition, a portion of ALIGNED’s profits are donated to a registered Canadian Charity that is selected annually by the voting of ALIGNED’s clients.

In a single afternoon, ALIGNED volunteers organized hundreds of pounds of food that were distributed to the numerous organizations that The Food Bank works with throughout the Waterloo Region.
