Q. Why did you join ALIGNED?
Pam: I joined ALIGNED because I wanted to be part of an organization that provided a different kind of insurance experience for business owners. Along with the fact that ALIGNED Insurance is 100% Canadian owned and employees have the ability to have a vested interest in owing a part of the organization.
Q. How did you first hear about ALIGNED?
Pam: A recruiter introduced me to an Advocate opportunity at ALIGNED. Once I explored the website and learned the 18 points of differentiation that sets this organization apart from other brokerages, I knew this was going to be the right fit for me.
Q. In your opinion, what sets ALIGNED Insurance apart?
Pam: As an ALIGNED client, you choose the support you want to receive as a business, rather than the traditional broker commission structure approach. You choosing how you’d like to receive specific services helps to put you in control of your business insurance experience.
Q. Why did you choose an insurance career?
Pam: Like many of us growing up, did we ever dream about having an insurance career? Not likely! However for myself I chose to explore this career path right after High School. I knew I wanted an opportunity to help people. A career in insurance presented so many different opportunities. It’s a field that’s constantly evolving and it fulfills my passion to help people.
Q. In your career to date, what are you most proud of?
Pam: What I am most proud of is being part of an insurance team during the aftermath of the Fort McMurray fires in 2016. I was part of a team that assisted with re-opening the town. I was there to help people who had lost everything and who were at their lowest. It was deeply meaningful to me to deliver much needed emergency funds and helped people restore their lives. Being there to provide comfort and support to others in need was a very humbling experience.
Q. Tell us about your most recent professional designations.
Pam: Right after obtaining my general insurance licensing, I decided to obtain my Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker Designation. Once I finished that I pursued my Chartered Insurance Professional Designation. Shortly, I look forward to enrolling shortly into the Advanced Chartered Insurance Professional program.
Q. In your opinion, what’s the single most important service an insurance broker delivers to a client?
Pam: The most important service a Broker can deliver to a client is to be that trusted resource and fully understand all of their business needs and risk exposures. To navigate through policy language and make coverage recommendations that best suits an individual business’s specific needs.
Q. Which of ALIGNED’s 18 points of differentiation do you find the most personally meaningful and why?
Pam: I find that having capped workloads is most meaningful to me because it creates a “no rush” approach. I can take the time to deliver high quality levels of service. It allows me to honour ALIGNED’s core values that I strongly believe in. It’s all about “Doing what you say you are going to do when you say you are going to do it.”

“Buying insurance is never anyone’s favourite purchase, especially as there are so many expenses already for businesses. The most important part of being an insurance broker is to help make the entire “insurance experience” as seamless and simple as possible. This can mean helping someone determine the right coverages or finding the best insurance companies to meet their specific needs. And, at the end of the day, it also means being there and helping people through any claims or concerns if and when they arise.”

Social responsibility is yet another way we deliver a different employee and client experience
Our Give Generously campaign connects our clients directly with our social responsibility work. Each year, a portion of ALIGNED Insurance profits are donated to a registered Canadian charity that is selected by our clients. Learn more about our Social Responsibility program.
