Linda Jeffrey and Andrew Clark of ALIGNED Insurance
Andrew Clark, President & CEO of ALIGNED Insurance, had the privilege of meeting Linda Jeffrey at a recent campaign event. Andrew was quoted as saying “It was a pleasure to meet Linda and great to see such a strong candidate and leader running for the Mayor of Brampton.”
For those that don’t know her, Linda Jeffrey was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, representing the riding of Brampton—Springdale for the Ontario Liberal Party, and was the province’s Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing in the Liberal government of Premier Kathleen Wynne until she resigned, March 25, 2014 to run for Mayor of Brampton, Ontario.
Linda Jeffrey brings considerable experience from her time in provincial politics and was previously associated with the Progressive Conservatives. However, she switched to the Liberals to run in the provincial election of 2003 and she defeated incumbent Progressive Conservative Joe Spina by 1005 votes in her Brampton riding.
Since her arrival at the Provincial Legislature she has served in a variety of positions including Parliamentary Assistant to the Ministers of Children and Youth Services, Democratic Renewal, Intergovernmental Affairs, Citizenship and Immigration and most recently, Transportation.
Other Notable Accomplishments Include
On January 18, 2010, Premier Dalton McGuinty appointed her to cabinet as Minister of Natural Resources. On October 10, 2011, Premier Dalton McGuinty appointed her to cabinet as Minister of Labour and Minister Responsible for Seniors.
On February 11, 2013, Premier Kathleen Wynne appointed her to cabinet as Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing. She was also appointed as Chair of Cabinet by Premier Wynne.
