ALIGNED Proudly Supports Autism In Mind
ALIGNED Insurance believes that it is a privilege to handle our clients insurance needs and that it is our corporate social responsibility to give generously and regularly to support the great work charitable and not profits organizations do every day across Canada.
As part of our commitment to give regularly, every month an ALIGNED Advocate selects a Canadian charity of their choice and ALIGNED makes a donation to that organization on their behalf. In recognition of the great work they do Laura Van Vliet selected Autism In Mind (AIM) Children’s Charity
Who is Autism In Mind?
Autism In Mind (AIM) Children’s Charity is a Canadian registered charity that was born in 2011 to help one family who was struggling with the stigma of autism in our society and the high cost of therapy services. Today, they are helping over 25 families living with autism in local communities in the GTA.
What is Autism In Mind’s Mission?
Their Saturday Social Skills Program and Intensive Behaviour Intervention (IBI) Therapy Program are the cornerstone of AIM’s services that support their mission of “Enhance the lives of children with autism through programs, love and support”. These programs are delivered by therapists and volunteers designed to help children to improve their communication and social skills. The ultimate goal is to equip children living with autism the ability to participate in their communities and in local school system. At AIM, they believe all children deserve an equal opportunity to learn and develop. In addressing society stigma, they host events throughout the year to support their mission of “Raise awareness and acceptance in our society for families living with autism”, with the vision of challenging the stigma of autism so that we can one day have a truly inclusive society where children with autism are viewed as children, nothing less.
