In the second half of the 2-part Insurance Business TV interview, Andrew credits much of his company’s early success to an intuitive response to marketplace needs as well as a big-picture focus. To break new ground, Andrew sees that “There’s a need to be flexible, nimble and pursue opportunity where it comes up.” 1
Not one to be content with the status quo, Andrew shares, “I’ve always wanted to build a better brokerage. I’m always looking for constant improvement and ways to do things better. Ultimately, this culminated in the launch of ALIGNED.” 2 Across Canada, Andrew and the ALIGNED team are building a successful brokerage.

Within the commercial insurance business, ALIGNED is carving out it’s own niche. He sees “…a real opportunity to drive value to clients. Each brokerage has the ability to define that for themselves and ultimately develop something that resonates either with a segment, industry or geography.” 3

Andrew sees directors and officers insurance – currently purchased by less than 25 per cent of Canadian companies – as a clear growth opportunity. He notes that D&O “…is an under appreciated product, particularly because of the inclusion of employment practices liability for private companies.” 4 He also sees an opening “…to educate and inform people about the reality of the risk as well as the product that is available.” 5
